Dr. Charles Zuman grew up in Mexico City where he was raised in a dental family. His father, Dr. Henry Zuman, was a well known and highly regarded general dentist both in the city of Puebla, as well as in Mexico City . He was one of the first dental implantologists in Mexico where he began practicing in 1965. He was peers with Dr. Leonard Linkow (Dr. Linkow is known in the scientific circles as “the father of modern dental implantology”).
It was only natural that Dr. Charles Zuman would follow in his father’s footsteps. After graduating from high school in Denver, Colorado, he continued his dental education at U.L.A. (Universidad Latino Americana) in Mexico City, a branch of the famous, world renowned U.N.A.M. (Universidad National Autonoma de Mexico) where he received in 1986 his “Cirujano Dentista” degree, the equivalent of the American “DDS” degree; which is recognized by the “ADA” American Dental Association.
Dr. Zuman is a strong proponent of continuing education which is evident by his many post- Graduate Certifications, advanced courses and national as well as international Congresses. He is constantly striving to stay up-to-date with the leading edge techniques and treatments, as the diplomas, professional certificates, and medals in his office attest. He has taken many advanced surgical courses in the U.S., including dental implants, bone grafts for ridge augmentation and sinus lifts, periodontics (gum disease), cosmetic porcelain veneers, metal-less porcelain crowns, zirconium crowns and veneers, root canals and dental laser treatments.
He has received a MEDAL OF QUALITY OF CARE and AN ACHIEVEMENT DIPLOMATE TITLE from the AMERICAN SOCIETY OF OSSEO INTEGRATION (ASO) which focuses on dental implants and mouth rehabilitation as well as being a good standing member and fellow at the INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF ORAL IMPLANTOLOGY (ICOI).
Dr. Zuman has over 30 years of dental experience. Although he performs all kinds of dental procedures, his main focus is Oral Implantology, Cosmetic Dentistry ( “smile makeovers”) and Full Mouth Rehabilitation focusing on Dental Occlusion. Additionally, he speaks English fluently which makes his patients feel at ease reducing nervousness and increasing confidence with his treatments.
Dr. Charles Zuman has been personally involved with dental implants since 1988 when he took courses in Core-Vent Osseointegrated Dental Implants directed by Dr. Gerald Niznik (whom he is peers with Dr. Per-Ingvar Branemark – well known for his “Osseointegration” discovery). He has taken advanced surgical courses such as Bone Grafts and Sinus Lifts with Dr. Dennis Smiler (1996), as well as courses on various specialties such as Cosmetic Dentistry, Endodontics (Root Canals), Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Occlusion (Full mouth rehabilitation with fix bridgework also known as fix partial dentures and/or removable partial dentures); implant and no-implant supported; as well as Periodontics (Gum problems) using the latest technology of Dental Lasers.
Dr. Zuman believes that: “God created us for a purpose. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. With every patient who comes into our office, we try to make their dental experience comfortable and enjoyable. We listen to him/her, finding out about his/her concerns so that we can treat their mouth as one sophisticated unit as opposed to a patch-up treatment. We treat them like a good friend. Personal relationships are just as important as professional relationships.
