What Are Dentures?

Dentures are artificial teeth that are used to replace missing teeth. Full or partial dentures can be manufactured. When all of the teeth in the mouth have been pulled or have fallen out, full dentures are necessary. Partial dentures can be used to replace a few lost teeth and are normally held in your mouth with little clasps. Dentures can help you with daily duties like eating and speaking by replacing missing teeth.

They can be utilized by persons of all ages, with or without natural teeth. Dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth caused by gum disease, decay, accident, or other dental issues.

Temporary or permanent dentures are available. A form of dental implant is permanent dentures.

Denture Procedure

A denture is a removable dental item that replaces one or more teeth in the upper or lower jaws. When you lose your teeth and replace them with dentures, the replacement teeth will feel different from your original teeth.

This is due to the fact that they are constructed of different materials and are not attached to the jaw like real teeth are. Taking imprints of the jaw, upper or lower gums, and teeth to manufacture the replacement set of teeth will be part of the denture-making procedure. When your dentures are finished, we will show you how to properly care for them.

Types of dentures

Partial Dentures:

Partial dentures are a type of removable dental prosthetic that are used to replace missing teeth. They consist of artificial teeth mounted on a plastic base that is held in place with metal clasps or other attachments. Partial dentures are a cost-effective way to restore the appearance and function of your smile.

Full Dentures:

Full dentures are a type of removable dental prosthetic that are used to replace all of the teeth in an arch. They consist of artificial teeth mounted on a plastic base that is held in place with suction or a special adhesive. Full dentures are a cost-effective way to restore the appearance and function of your smile.

Implant-Retained Dentures:

Implant-retained dentures are a type of denture that are held in place with several dental implants. This procedure is a safe, effective way to restore your smile and provide you with a secure, comfortable fit.

Benefits of Dentures

People who have lost their teeth may benefit from dentures. A dentist or oral surgeon will create a set of teeth for you to wear in your mouth. If you have lost teeth, dentures can help you eat and speak again.

They will also improve the appearance of your teeth. Dentures come in a variety of forms and sizes to best suit your mouth and give you the desired look. You can select the ones that suit you best. You can also receive fixed or removable dentures. You can take them out and clean them on a regular basis, or you can get them removed by a dentist.

Denture Problems and Solutions

Fine Quality Dental can assist you with any denture problems. It is important that you go to the dentist on a regular basis for cleanings and to have your dentures examined. This will assist in the prevention of gum disease, bone loss, and tooth decay. If you feel your dentures sliding, fitting incorrectly, or causing pain, you may require new dentures.

If you have any of these symptoms, you should consult a dentist right once.

Loose dentures

If your dentures are loose, you can tighten them at home by snapping the back clasps together. If this does not work, you may need to have them refitted by a dentist.

Sore gums

If you are experiencing sore gums with your dentures, there are a few steps you can take to alleviate the discomfort. First, make sure that your dentures fit properly and that there are no loose or broken parts. You can also use a soft-bristled brush to gently clean your gums and dentures each day. Additionally, you can try rinsing your mouth with a saltwater solution to reduce the inflammation.

Bone Loss

You can also visit your dentist for a professional examination to determine the extent of the bone loss. Depending on the severity of your condition, your dentist may recommend the use of dental implants to provide additional support and stability. Additionally, your dentist may recommend special denture adhesives or relining your dentures to reduce any discomfort.

Denture Care

You should clean your dentures many times a day to maintain them in good condition and free of bacteria and smells. Here's how to care for your dentures: Dentures should be immersed in warm water before being scrubbed with an electric toothbrush and soaked in a cleaning solution. Finish by washing completely and leaving to air dry.

Fill a container with denture cleaning. Place in a denture cleaner container. Please place the dentures in a storage solution bottle and wipe them with a gentle cloth. Replace your dentures in your mouth.

Check the fit of your dentures at least once every six months and obtain guidance on how to properly care for them. You should also see your dentist if you are experiencing pain or discomfort, or if your dentures are becoming loose.
